I remember I’ve always feared to interact with other people.
You have to open yourself, share personal information with others, and you believe most of your personal information is weird and nobody will understand it.
That was me. That was the way I was thinking a few years ago.
But everything changed when I actually did it.
You may be afraid of getting criticized or afraid that people will not accept you the way you are. Know what? Screw them!
This life we’re living is not about getting everyone to like us. Is more about getting people close to us – so close we can deeply bound and build powerful and remarkable relationships.
But as long as you’re not vulnerable, you’ll never truly connect with someone.
Here’s the story of every inexperienced public speaker out there
I once was invited as a speaker at some event – it was about digital marketing. And there was this guy, from a huge company in the country I am living in. When he started speaking, he only talked about digital marketing and how you can effectively use social media to boost your business.
You may think ‘what’s wrong with that?’
He came there just to share some information that’s already available on the Internet. Moreover, he didn’t connect with anyone because all he did was to talk about nothing that’s emotional, personal or of great value for the audience.
So he wasted his time and the audience’s time.
Instead, if he would have shared his experience as a digital marketer, talk about his passions (he was passionate about mountain climbing), share some personal experiences from his domain of activity, and putting himself out there, he would have gotten much more from that event. Maybe even make some friends or get some new clients.

Why do you care about what other people think about you?
Moreover, why the fuck you think everyone should like you?
I’m really pissed because we kind of reached that era when everyone is offended by something. If I tell you that you are dumb and I don’t like you, you are getting pissed.
First of all, that’s only an opinion and you’ve got nothing to do with it – you can’t change it.
Second of all, you are changing your mood, energy, and mindset from positive to negative. Imagine how shitty would it be to get opinions like that every 5 minutes and to shift from positive to negative every 5 minutes.
Just think about that and meditate for a while.
Not everybody likes an open book
Let’s say your life – everything you lived until now – is written in this book called ‘The Life of Me’ and it’s out there, available to everyone who wants to read it.
Do you think everybody will enjoy reading this book?
A few will think it’s amazing and finish the entire book, while most of them will think it’s dumb and throw it away after the first 20 pages. Or vice versa.
So, here’s an idea I’ve always liked: some people will hate you and some people will love you for exactly the way you are – so why bother trying to please everyone?
That, right there, is another thing you should meditate on.
The power of being vulnerable is discovered while practicing gratitude
I’m a really pragmatic person and can’t help myself, so here’s an exercise you should do.
First of all, you should make two lists: one for things and one for people. So, write 5 things you’re grateful for and 5 people you’re grateful for.
Next, after you’ve finished that, you have to find some arguments for why you’re grateful for those people and things.

And now, as a last step, you’ll have to meditate.
How does meditation work for me?
Well, I wake up early in the morning, without touching my smartphone or my laptop. And I start thinking about something.
For most people out there, the process of meditation is about trying not to think of anything. For me, it is a little bit different.
Instead of emptying my mind, I focus on only one thing until I’m satisfied. I and become satisfied after I discover something new about myself that’s related to the thing I’m thinking about.
- Being vulnerable is how you will deeply connect with people and, eventually, improve your life;
- The purpose of meditation is to make yourself conscious about how you are as a human being and what are the things and people you are grateful for.
