A few years ago, I discovered spirituality and, since then, many things have changed in my life. But it wasn’t just a constant positive change. It went from good to bad, from bad to worse, from worse to great, from great to shitshow. Just so you can understand how much of a rollercoaster my life was:
- In the spring of 2024, I visited Japan and had one of the best months of my life.
- Since the end of 2024 and until two months ago (around May 2025), I had constant suicidal thoughts.
I believe the negative moments happened because I was strongly invested in my spiritual journey and I had to deal with all the negative beliefs from my past so I could overwrite them.
Today’s article is not about spirituality in general, but about something more specific regarding spirituality that I discovered recently and I want to share it with you.
What is at the foundation of your desires?
When I studied optimism, I discovered that the frequency connected to optimism is at 310Hz. If you are above 200Hz (that’s where courage starts), energy expands and eventually the negativity dissolves. If you are below 200Hz, negativity is more present in your life and energy contracts.
The same source (probably David R. Hawkins but I’m not sure) says that desire is at 125Hz, which would mean that desire is built on top of negative energy.
It doesn’t make any sense.
For many, many months, I was frustrated with the conflicting idea that I shouldn’t have any desires because they are bringing negativity into my life. The reasoning behind such a thought could be that whenever you desire something, you create expectations around it, and when the expectations aren’t met, you can easily experience negative feelings such as disappointment or even anger.
But if I manage my expectations well, then I’ll never get there, which means I should desire things in my life.
And then… I finally got it. Desires are not bad.
But it’s about the kind of desires you have
If the things you desire are connected to your fear, these are the desires that are found at 125Hz and they are bringing negativity into your life.
For example, if you want to find a different job just so you can make more money, that’s a desire connected to your fear of staying poor for the rest of your life.
On the other hand, if you want to find a different job so you can invest more resources in your passions (whatever they are) and live the life that you are excited to live, then that’s a desire connected to something you love.
When you desire something out of fear, you keep your mind focused on the fear you want to run away from. That focus is what will keep you experiencing your fear over and over again, until you realize the approach you’ve been having was not the one you should have had.
When you desire something out of love, you keep your mind focused on the love you have for yourself and for the things you have in your life. That focus is what will keep you experiencing the same love, over and over again, and will help you build the life that you want to have.
Now that you know, what is it that you want to change?
A few months ago, I wanted to move to a different country, to get a job, and to leave everything behind. But more than that, I was afraid that I would eventually have no money for food.
In that process of finding a job and moving to a different country (which thankfully lasted only a month because I stopped it), I lost 1000 euros. I invested them into a few directions and eventually I realized I shouldn’t have done that. My fear of losing money got enhanced by my desire to run away from my fear.
As soon as I realized what I was doing, I stopped.
And then, something magical happened. I decided to have the same kind of desire (make money) but this time I connected it to the things I love and am passionate about.
As soon as I did that, it happened. Literally.
One week after I decided not to move to a different country, stay in my hometown, and focus on the things I love doing, one important opportunity manifested in my life and that opportunity became a collaboration I love.
Whatever you desire, become aware of it. If it’s based on something you fear, give up on that desire, reframe it, and focus on the things you love.
Maybe it’s something that you’ve wanted to do your whole life but you never had the courage to do it. Do that!
With love and optimism,
David
