This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. When we struggle (and I currently do a lot) and life is hard, we want things to change. In that change, we see our new life.
But we can’t simply have it. If we had that new life as soon as we ask for it, we wouldn’t be able to sustain it.
Therefore, from where we are and to where we want to go, the road ahead is filled with lessons that we have to learn so we can become the person who is able to sustain the new life.
Around 2 years ago, my life started getting worse and worse and eventually I ended up with no money, almost no friends, and I even lost all meaning. I kept bumping into the same experiences without understanding that these experiences were there to teach me something that I kept missing.
Around 3 months ago, I found a business partner and we started working together on building a business. Right when we were supposed to launch it, I had another lesson to learn. We decided that it was better not to continue together, but I still wanted to launch the business.
To be honest, I worked on that business for months and I spent countless hours on the idea behind the business even before meeting her.
That’s why I decided that I’m going to do it anyway.

The first episode of The Pattern Room Podcast is live and you can listen to it on any Podcast App. Or just click here to visit the website of the podcast.
While the podcast is about naming the pattern so you can change the outcome, the first episode is about what I consider one of the biggest patterns that we’re struggling with: letting go and coming back into the present moment.
The podcast is available on any app (Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, etc.) Listen to the first episode and let me know what you think.
Magister Coach
I’ve been doing coaching for more than 8 years and I wanted to create a strong identity around my vision for coaching.
For me, coaching means 2 things:
- A process of growth where the coachee arrives at the destination because of the insights they got along the way, not because of shortcuts.
- A transformative journey where the coach doesn’t hand you the answers but points you toward them.
That’s how MagisterCoach.com came to life.
Now, what’s next?
To be honest, I’m tired.
I’m tired of all the lessons that I’ve been learning in these past 2 years and I feel like I am making no progress, even though I can see that I’m not the same person I was 2 years ago. I just hope it will all end soon.
On the other hand, not having my business partner with me anymore feels like there’s a lot of pressure on my shoulders to do the things that are outside my knowledge and set of skills.
But I’ll keep going because this is what I want to do.
With love and optimism,
David
